My favorite new Sims 2 mods released in 2025!
Gameplay Mods:
These are several mods by Tea Addict which improve owned businesses in various ways.
The Restaurant Lot Controller has useful interactions for restaurant lots, such as being able to toggle “eat or go home” to kick sims out if they’re not hungry.
The Better Food Business mod reduces the relationship requirement for getting away with underpaying staff in food businesses, it also makes customers arrive on the lot hungry, you get more sims appearing at your restaurant per business rank, and it creates lunch and dinner rushes for non-owned restaurants and cafes.
The Close the Kitchen mod allows you to 'close the kitchen' so sims will stop going to the podium without having to close the business. This adds a new interaction to the podium to close the kitchen but with the Restaurant Lot Controller, you can set the time at which the kitchen will automatically close.
The Better Staff Breaks / Staff Room Controller adds a new object which when placed in a designated 'staff room' will scan the sims on the lot for anyone on a break, call them every 10 minutes to 'come here please’ if they aren’t in the staff room, then push them to do something useful, helping them tend to their bladder, hunger, and energy needs.
The Employees Warn Before Quitting mod will give you a warning dialogue that an employee is underpaid and will quit before they actually do, giving you a chance to rectify the situation and keep them around.
The Showering on Business Lots enables customers to take a shower at an open business, which is really helpful for gyms so they will use the showers instead of leaving due to low hygiene. Squinge had a mod for this but it was never updated to Apartment Life, and this also has compatibility patches for other shower-related mods.

This mod by fway allows sims with the Green Thumb and Gatherer traits to harvest more produce from Maxis fruit trees and harvestable plants. The mod page states that Green Thumbs will harvest 5% more produce, and Gatherers will harvest 10% more produce, but from my testing this was the other way around. The mod can easily be tuned to your liking.
This mod by Tea Addict introduces a new way of playing owned cafes. With the regular Decra Chill Fridges and marking plates of food for sale, customers can still buy food to take home as usual. However, this adds clones of them which are instead used by customers to purchase the plates of food inside them to eat at the lot, rather than taking home. You can place group meals in them and a sim will take a single serving. This prevents the need for the full restaurant system with a host, server and chef, and makes customers able to serve themselves. They won't even use a cashier, they will just buy the plate of food directly from the fridge and sit at a table on the lot to eat it. This comes with a Cafe Lot Controller similar to the restaurant one, but this will mark the lot as a cafe and enable the 'pay to eat' system. Without this, sims will eat for free. It also has the a “Buy Something or Go Home” toggle, which will force sims to leave the lot if they’re not going to buy something, either to eat or take home. There's also some compatibility patches here, and it has since been updated to V2 here.
This mod by Lamare expands the dialog popup when a sim is asked what their job is - it now also reveals if sim has an NPC job, is retired, student, business owner or employee. Multiple factors are listed at the same time for example if an elder is retired, has a part-time job, and owns a business, all 3 will be reported.
This mod by Matti is a collection of various mods that alter want trees, since you can only have one want tree file at once. This combines Riftwalker's Wants Tree which combined Go Steady Want for Adults and Elders, Fixed Break Up Want - both for Steady and Marriage, New Family Member Want for Teens and Children of All Aspirations, University related Wants enabled for All Aspirations, Engagement Want and Left at Altar Fear enabled for All Aspirations, and optionally, Teen Woohoo, as well as Lamare's Wants Tree which added University Career Wants Enabled, and Careers now roll based on Interests rather than Aspirations, SnorkackSearcher's Wants Tree which added No Talk or Blog About Hobby Wants, and Hobby Wants are Restricted by Personality, and my personal edits to restrict the Hustle Pool want so that some aspirations will no longer roll it, and neither will children or toddlers (I never shared this anywhere, only in my Discord). Speaking of Discord, Matti actually made me an edit of this to suit my tastes, since I didn't want the "New Family Member Want for Teens of All Aspirations", or the "No Talk or Blog About Hobby Wants" but I wanted to enable the "Go Out" want for adults. So, if you have similar tastes to me then download that customized version in my discord!

This mod by Big Woe makes Bartender NPCs far more useful as they can now clean up their area instead of idling by the bar. They can now clean up dishes, coffee cups, keg cups, dirtied sinks, puddles and trash piles, as well as repair broken dishwashers, sinks and trash compactors, all while still prioritizing their bar customers.
This mod by Big Woe improves the restorable car in several ways. Firstly, the motive drain is much more reasonable, it will no longer quickly tank the energy need. However, the effects on comfort, energy, and hygiene are comparable to a workout, and it will now affect comfort and hygiene more than energy. Fun gain scales with serious personality, and it now has a much faster skill gain rate so it actually builds mechanical skill faster than a book would, this rate also scale with serious personality. The pie menu interactions will also show the percentage progress now. Sims with higher skills will finish the work a bit faster than Sims with lower skills, but not significantly so. There are also several more improvements such as the rev engine interaction no longer being entirely useless, no more quitting after engine failure, better social gain from working on it together, and much more.
This mod by Heathen Simmer fixes Bigfoot's chance of stealing an object from work since it used to be 100% of the time but is now 30%, and applies this same chance to sims with the kleptomaniac trait.
This mod by Heathen Simmer makes it so that sims with the Snob, Diva, Mean-Spirited, and Evil traits can always use the brag interaction regardless of relationship level. Usually, it becomes unavailable when sims have a high relationship so now these traits will keep access to it.

Change into Gym clothes to Jump Rope (Update with color traits excluding kids)
This is an updated mod by Velcositro which originally just made sims change into their athletic outfit to jump rope, then was updated with color traits support so the rope will be in the sim's favorite color then was updated again as per my request with a new flavor that would exclude children from the outfit change, so while teens, adults & elders will change, children will stay in their everyday.
These are two mods with a similar idea, the first by Nadziejka and the other by Tea Addict. Both mods reduce the cost of buying clothes at community lots. For example, balanced version of the first mod will lower the cost of buying everyday from §200 to §75 and Formal from §400 to §150 and so on so all clothing categories are cheaper to purchase but still balanced, unless you opt for the free version. Choose whichever mod, and whichever version of the mod that suits you best.
This mod by Heathen Simmer unlocks the ability to hack university grades on a computer that is usually only available for sims in the secret society so that it is also available for sims with the Computer Whiz trait too.
This mod by DinaMarBoobs prevents more Social Class sims from being generated. It also expands the pool of sims that can become neighbors, allowing all safe NPCs, townies, and other types of family instances generated by the game.
This mod by Big Woe significantly improves the gardening experience. The Tend, Harvest, Water, and Spray interactions have had speed boosts, now having no badge will be as fast as having the silver badge in the vanilla game, and each badge level will allow for even faster gardening. Because of these speed boosts, the exploit has been fixed so you can no longer cancel the interaction to perform it at gold-level speed regardless of badge level. There's also several more optional addons. For example, raking speed will be based on cleaning skill and gain skill faster. Another new feature is that plants may be tended autonomously. You can also sell surplus compost and with Lamare's Planting Overhaul mod, create bags of compost for later use using your own compost!

This mod by Big Woe changes the consumption of coffees and hot chocolates so that they yield hunger and energy per sip, can fatten Sims on full hunger, and can be left around (and never spoil) for others to take. It also makes coffees and hot chocolates different in the amount of motives they fulfill: coffees restore more energy, but are much less filling whereas a cup of hot chocolates can fill up to 1/4 of the hunger bar, but has a bigger impact on bladder. This also introduces more features: there's a chance sims will wash the mug straight after, self-deletion on community lots, fast drinking if there is an interaction queued up, sims may grab the mugs directly while seated, and PlantSims also gain water drinking them at about half the bladder loss for normal Sims.
This is an amazing mod by Tea Addict which adds a new pie menu option to 'Go Out...'. You can choose a number of hours to send sims out for from 1 to 12 or have them go out indefinitely until you cancel the interaction. Doing this holds the sims off the lot with their needs frozen, and multiple sims can go at the same time. This is excellent for simulating the time they were at a community lot. This is a much more flexible alternative to the community time project because you can use it only when you see fit, for example a sim may have gone to a community lot to play out their work day and you intend for them to 'go to work' normally like in the carpool upon returning to simulate that time away. So, in that situation you would not want the sim to be held off the lot like you probably would if they were visiting a community lot to go shopping or something. Another benefit to using this method instead of the community time project is that multiple sims / groups of sims can be out at the same time, so you no longer have to wait for one sim / group to return before any other sim can go to a community lot - they can be off lot at the same time for different amounts of time.
This mod by Tea Addict is a similar idea to her Go Out for Tea mod for use with cars (you can use both mods together or either one alone), so sims can be sent off the lot in a car for an indefinite amount of time until you cancel the interaction. You can choose to freeze their needs during this time and the main use case of this is an alternative to the Community Time Project to simulate the time they were away at a community lot, but the benefit of this is that other sims in the household can still go out while they are off the lot.

This mod by Heathen Simmer gets rid of the 'Go to College' want for teenagers unless they are three days or less from aging! While I always want my teenagers to want to go to college, I never cut their teenage years short and only send them to college on their very last day so its annoying to have this want potentially hog a slot for 14 whole days.
This is a custom career by |usagi but it doesn't function much like a career. The idea is that it simulates being on government support / benefits - there is only one working day in the week, Wednesday and it's just for one hour 9-10am. A taxi will come for your sims and there's no uniform or chance cards, so you can imagine they're just being taken to collect their weekly allowance from the government office. There's 3 flavors of the mod: $350, $563 or $600 per week. Every level in the career is the same but there are 'requirements' for each level so your sim doesn't get 'promoted' every time. This may replace the need for the more complex Social Welfare mod.
This mod by Heathen Simmer simply allows sims with the Green Thumb trait to talk to plants, just like Plantsims or sims with a gold gardening talent badge.
This mod by Big Woe makes sims eat faster under certain conditions - the likelihood of doing so increases the hungrier a Sim is, less neat the Sim is, and if there is any other interaction queued up. So now even neat sims can use the fast animation if they are hungry and are trying to get to something else. It only applies to foods eaten by hand such as sandwiches, burgers, snacks, etc., not meals eaten with a fork.
Hypersaline’s User Beware folder: Call All Over
Hypersaline has shared several of their work-in-progress mods to try out! My favorite one is the call all over interaction that will bring everyone on the lot to the sim's current location.

This is another mod by AshtonLC3 inspired by my wishlist. It's always bothered me how the available meals would change from breakfast to lunch at 10:30 - that's too early for lunch! This mod introduces three alternative timetables for the available meals and can easily be used as a base to tune to your liking.
Mod Edits by Tea Addict: Sell From Inventory
The Sell From Inventory mod has been improved in a much more user-friendly way. In the original, you'd get the 'fridge menu' to select how much to charge for the item so this would involve checking how much the item is worth first and manually calculating how much markup you'd want to add if any. This edit removes the fiddly fridge menu, now the value of the traded items will be automatically calculated then you will get a popup dialog asking how much you want to adjust the price by - you can give it at a discount, at it's raw value, or at a markup. You can continuously adjust the percentage difference in increments of 10% until you confirm. This makes the mod far easier to use.
This mod by ePSYlord simply changes the time when a sim first moves into a new lot to 7am instead of 8am, so they don't miss the school bus or carpool.
This mod by Heathen Simmer makes it so that sims with the Slob trait will not care if their environment score is low.
This is a set of addons by me for Pick N Mix's No Driving Without A Licence mod with tuning edits I've made for my personal taste and gameplay style, as well as some compatibility patches for other mods I use. I've made the mod a bit more convenient overall while still keeping it balanced in my opinion - the Driving Test Centre, Theory Exam Centre & Bookable Lessons will be available on Sundays, and the Theory Exam Centre will have longer opening hours, so your sims will have more opportunity to learn and take tests. I've also increased the amount of experience gained per lesson, and decreased the apprehensive and confident thresholds, so your sims will be ready to take a test sooner after fewer lessons. I've also tweaked the requirements and monetary values of Meduza's Scholarships, which includes scholarships for driving as well as others. As well as this, I've made patches for Allow Puppy, Kitten & Toddler Riders, More sensible “Can my friend come over, too?” and Read Books Autonomously.

These are my tweaks and patches for piqiwi's Parenthood, Prom + After School Activity, and Prom Plugins: Limo + Bring Friend Home from Prom. I've tweaked the after school activities: the names of the clubs have been revamped, every interest can now be built by at least one club, and each hobby can be built in one club. I’ve reduced the amount that interests are changed by attending a club, and attending a hobby-building club will increase enthusiasm by exactly one full point. I’ve also tweaked the motives; detention will now decrease fun, and I’ve removed many of the need buffs from the other clubs - now only social will be maxed, and fun will be increased by 50 points. I've also made a text compatibility patch for the School Bus Bring Friend Dialog mod and Parenthood and/or After School Activity + my tweaks. As well as this, Sims will return from prom with a little more energy when using the Prom Plugins: Limo + Bring Friend Home from Prom. Lastly, I've slightly increased the chance of getting a parenthood prompt to 40% instead of 30%, and slightly reduced the chance of taking advice from 88% to 85%. I’ve also disabled the personality changes, because I prefer to handle this manually once they get their character value trait and age up to YA or adult.
This mod by Tea Addict adds a new custom interaction to lots of fun items in the game as well as many optional CC items. This interaction can be used to toggle 'pay to play' so when this is on, it will cost the sims money to use this object on a community lot, both owned (more profit for business owner) and unowned.
This is an updated version of the Period Hack (originally by smonaff) by me. This version also includes smonaff's 'hidden' update, Meduza's undead edit, and another edit by Meduza which I requested which makes the 'Period...' pie menu option only show in self-interactions rather than when clicking on any female sim as any active sim. My tuning makes periods last 23-24 hours but only occur every 7 days instead of every 4. I've also significantly reduced the effect on motives, the hygiene and comfort need will no longer suffer as severely with my version, but will still decay faster during a period than otherwise.
This mod by Lamare is an edit and combination of two old mods by MogHughson: Autonomous Put Away Leftovers and Simply Leftovers (adds the option to store leftovers as single plates rather than a group serving). Lamare's version fixes some bugs, allows the put away leftovers option on custom foods with unusual plates, and adds more condition checks. Sims will no longer autonomously put away leftovers if there’s a party, hungry non-sleeping household members or greeted visitors, or a lunch lady aka cafeteria worker on the lot.

This mod by Lamare adds randomness to the elder lifestage by introducing 3 semi-random events: living longer, dying early, and getting sick. Elders now have a chance of getting sick with an additional ailment: an elder's cough, which is not contagious. There's a small random chance of this happening but the chance is increased if the elder is half-past elderhood or is in a bad mood, but the chance is lowered if they have learned pysiology. There is also a small random chance of them dying early, but there are several factors that can increase this chance such as bad mood and/or aspiration, having no best friends or pet friends, being sick, or having a recent bad memory. On the flip side, lots of factors also give a chance of gaining an extra day of life, such as being fit, having friends, having hobby enthusiasm, good memory, high aspiration, and more. Each day a chance of one of these 3 events is calculated. This mod is highly configurable and its easy to tune to your liking. Download is here.
This mod by AshtonLC3 fulfills another an idea from my wishlist! I've always hated how quicky toddlers gained energy when sleeping in the crib and wished the energy rating of cribs could be reduced, and this mod does exactly that! So now, a toddler with a completely empty energy bar will sleep for 7 and a half hours in the cheap crib to fully fill the energy need, whereas previously they would have only slept for 3 and a half hours! This is a much less cheaty solution than the popular 'Toddlers Sleep Through the Night' mod, but you can expect to see toddlers waking up in the middle of the night much less often with this.
This mod by Lenna9 adds a new interaction on dead flowers to replant them. No longer do they have to dispose of them and then you buy a new one from the buy mode catalog - the sims can handle this themselves in this one interaction! They will dispose of the dead flowers and then purchase new ones which will appear in its place.

This mod by Lamare is a new take on a functional laundry system, alternative to Loads O Laundry, with the aim to be simplistic. Once you place a hamper on a lot it will fill up over time depending on how many people are in the household and the Sloppy-Neat personality of each member of the household - sloppy sims accumulate laundry faster. The hampers always start empty and then will appear full after some time, they will also eventually start to smell. You can also use an optional addon that make it so that sims, especially sloppy sims, will sometimes create clothing piles on the floor when getting changed, this is additional to what is in the hamper and the created laundry when changing clothes never automatically goes in a hamper. So, sloppy sims make a lot more laundry than neat sims. You can wash clothes with a washing machine and optionally, in the sink. No detergent is required to wash clothes. You do not technically need to dry the clothes, but you can do so with a dryer or an outdoor clothing line. There is a hygiene decay buff for washing clothes and a comfort decay buff for drying clothes. The laundry in this mod is not technically a real thing, it has no numerical value and never goes in the inventory or in the world as a physical object, so washing can be done without any laundry actually being present. You can also make functioning laundromats with this mod, but rather than sims actually having laundry piles in their inventory they need to take to clean, its more imagination-based. The animations and models in this mod are absolutely stunning. The animations are very detailed, realistic, and smooth - you will even be able to see the washing moving around inside the machines. The models are very high quality and are mostly converted from The Sims 4. You will always know when a load is finished in a machine because there is a beep as soon as it is done. Sims are really quite attracted to dealing with the laundry autonomously, maids will also take care of it too. You can also download additional sets of hampers and machines.
These are two mods by Heathen Simmer with effects for the Angler Trait. Firstly, Anglers can now autonomously fish on community lots. Also as part of this package, sims with the Hates Outdoors trait will have a lower chance of success catching fish, but sims with the Loves Outdoors trait, and even more so the Angler trait, will have a higher chance of success catching fish. This is part of fway's Trait Badge Gain Speed Mods, but this mod expands on it further by also making it so Anglers will gain fun need the whole time while fishing, rather than only when successfully catching a fish. So you should use both of these mods together and let this one load last. The other package in this set by Heathen Simmer changes advertising for autonomous fishing which is recommended if you want the proper effect, which is to see unplayables fishing in the background at fishing/nature lots for some realism.

This is a traits mod by Heathen Simmer for the Clumsy Trait. Sims with the clumsy trait will now have a higher chance of falling when skating or roller blading. If a Sim is not Clumsy, it checks for body skill to determine if Sims will fall down.
This mod by Trilliane varies the slap animation sims perform based on their personality, so the interaction will be much more varied. For example, rather than pretty much every sim doing the multiple slap animation, some sims like nice sims will just do a single slap, and shy sims will perform the shy slap animation. It also improves logic around retaliating and walking off to cry, now sims who do not retaliate will be the ones that walk off and cry, rather than doing so after slapping.
This mod by Lamare adds around 40 objects from bathroom & kitchen clutter to cabinets. Now, certain interactions will either require or at least benefit from the presence of these various objects, the idea being that these objects are toiletry or cleaning supplies that benefit the sims' hygiene and cleaning tasks, and gradually deplete after being used. Once a bottle/box is used up, it disappears or looks empty and brings up notification. Some items may be refilled for money or from other objects. House cleaning takes longer without supplies and goes faster with them. Sims and pets can't get completely clean with water alone - without soapy products, the hygiene effect of washing is capped at 50. Sims won't be able to apply acne cream, wash face or brush teeth without supplies. Dishwashers and washing machines (from the Simple Laundry mod) can be used without supplies, but this may cause them to break sooner. Using the toilet without toilet paper will reduce the sim's hygiene more. Bubble baths have no visible bubbles if there are no toiletries. Many small objects have a single purpose, and some can even be directly clicked on to perform interactions like apply acne cream, wash face and brush teeth, whereas some larger items like bathroom cabinets contain the supplies needed for several interactions for much longer, and can be used to restock the smaller items without charge.

This mod by Heathen Simmer prevents the want to "watch movie" from rolling if the sim has the technophobe trait.
This mod by Meduza makes it so that sometimes children & teens will bring home a school project to complete instead of traditional homework. These are conversions from The Sims 4 and work in a similar way. They come in a box and are something to make/build; children can get the castle, solar system and volcano, and teens can get the bridge, electricity and rocket. Projects take a bit longer to complete than regular homework but they gain skills, hobby enthusiasm, and in some cases, talent badges too. Sims have a chance of making school project of one of three qualities: poor, good and excellent. The outcome depends on skill and badge corresponding the project, getting help with school project and traits, but the quality doesn't actually impact school grades. It also comes with lots of different compatibility versions for various other homework-related mods.
This is the Wannabe Moodlets trait mod, originally by Hexagonal Bipyramid, then further expanded by MidgeTheTree, and now expanded even further by Heathen Simmer. As well as the effects implemented by both Hexagonal Bipyramid and MidgeTheTree, Heathen Simmer has made it so that now Neurotic sims will also generally have a lower mood just like grumpy sims. As well as this, a Dog Person's mood will be higher when near a dog and a Cat Person's mood will be higher when near a cat too!
This mod by KittyCarey changes several job levels in various careers so that their workdays will be weekdays rather than weekends. Examples include the College Dean of Students and Education Minister Levels (9 & 10) of the Education career, and the Field Researcher, Project Leader, Inventor, and Top Secret Researcher levels of the Science Career, as well as several other levels across the Architecture, Journalism, Law, Military, and Natural Science careers. It does not change careers that make sense to work on weekends such as Music, Entertainment, Dance, etc.

New Functional Objects:
This is a set of functional toddler toys by JinxxSims converted from ATS4. There are several dollhouse-like toys which gain the charisma skill when played with. There is an abacus that will gain the knowledge skill, a block toy that will gain logic skill and science enthusiasm, a screw toy that will gain mechanical skill and tinkering enthusiasm, and a bells toy that will gain creativity and music & dance enthusiasm too. So, there are lots of options for your little sims to gain skills.
Nyami has re-created the famous dancer cake from The Sims 1! When you click on this, you can hire either a female or male entertainer then the selected one will appear as a custom NPC on the lot, dance for your sims and can be further interacted with.
TvickieSims has updated all of her 4t2 fans and shared them in one convenient place. The fans can now be turned on and off to cool sims in the same room. Sims coming up to cool off do it quicker. They also provide a small comfort boost for those sims who were lacking it.
Heathen Simmer has updated the Functional Microscope by Katy76/nanashi. This edit adds science hobby enthusiasm gain, and if a Sim has enough hobby enthusiasm in Science or their OTH is Science, the pie menu changes to “Study Specimens”, they may also look through the microscope autonomously. As well as this, children can now use the microscope too and sims with the Genius trait will learn logic faster.
This is a functional object by SissySims that sims can use to purchase lottery tickets. There are four different lotteries, each with its own draw days, and a sim can purchase between 1 to 20 tickets at a time. A sim may only have one ticket per draw, meaning more tickets allow them to enter more draws instead of purchasing multiple tickets for a single draw. This lottery system is based on Monique’s Hacked Computers; it does not require a hacked computer to use, but is compatible with such computers.

This is a conversion of the entire Luxury Party Stuff Pack from The Sims 4 by Lord Crumps. It includes modded items - a new functional buffet platter which you can place on any surface, spawn any food item for a price, and use like a buffet table. It also includes some tables ideal for placing these buffet platters on. There is also a drinks fountain which sims can take a drink from and increase their fun.
These are functional buffet platter items by Simming Wolverine inspired by the mod above, but in Sims 2 Maxis Match style rather than Sims 4. So with these items too, you can place it on any surface, spawn any food item for a price, and use like a buffet table. It has two sizes, big and small, and the model is the same as PForest's lovely Restaurant Cloche Default. This also comes with a maxis match table in the style of Celebration Stuff, on which you can place six platters.
These are new free items by Fractured Moonlight that look like natural things - flowers, leaves, dirt, etc. They function as a natural, discrete outdoor litter box for cats and they'll never need to be cleaned. They also function as a marker for dogs so with one of these on the lot, this is where they will choose to pee rather than in the middle of the road or something.
This mod by Hypersaline adds an object that can be used to either automatically or manually age townies and NPCs. It has a hidden function to randomize the ages of all the townies & NPCs if you shift click on it, so they won't all be at the start of their lifestage. When a sim needs to have a birthday to the next life stage or pass away, they will come to the lot.
This is a new set of OMSPs by Gummi (and EpiSims) that will rotate objects to varying degrees - from 5° to 40° for ground objects and from 1° to 9° for wall objects. This allows you to create more natural not-so-perfect looking environments.

This mod by millicentbystander is a set of objects, mostly clones of Maxis decorations, which automatically turn into alternate models based on the season, many being Christmas-themed. For example, one object will be a fruit bowl in spring and summer, a cornucopia in autumn, and a gingerbread house in winter. For it to function correctly, spring must be the first season, then summer, then fall, with winter being the fourth season.
This mod is an edit of SimWardobe's Vocation Trainer with significant improvements by Big Woe. This is an object which sims can use to teach other sims about skills or badges they are advanced in, and sims learn by taking notes in the workbook. Firstly, it's updated for the newer expansion packs, so now all badges from all expansion packs are teachable. There are several skill-related improvements, such as the minimum requirements for teaching, a student's skill gain rate varies dependent on the teacher's logic and charisma as well as the student's serious personality. Teachers will gain Social but lose Comfort and Fun while teaching - the nicer the teacher is the less fun they will lose and if they have over 7 or more niceness they will actually gain fun instead, implying they enjoy teaching. Teachers also gain Charisma while teaching. Students will gain Social but loose Fun while studying, but Fun loss can be mitigated by teacher's current Charisma, and can even be turned into gain if the teacher has high Charisma. Students will chat to each other while studying, and students will gain STR between each other as well as with the teacher. There's also Enthusiasm gain depending on the subject being taught. Lastly, there's less age restriction - children can be teachers and students.
These are functional electronic photo frames by TvickieSims. They start out blank, but you can interact with them to either use a picture from your paintings folder or to take a snap to display in it. This is a great and easy way to have family portraits.

This is functional spray painting by Jacky93Sims, you place what looks like a box of spray paints, there's a version for the floor and version for the wall and then sims can use this object to create street art and gain creativity skill.
This is a functional appliance by Jacky93Sims that sims can use to make various herbal teas. There is a very quick interaction to boil the kettle just like turning on a coffee machine and then sims can choose from 10 different teas to pour. Drinking tea will increase comfort and energy and decrease bladder (except chamomile will decrease energy). Sims will then clean up their teacup when done.
These are two strollers/prams/buggies for toddlers from The Sims 3 previously converted by Crisps & Kerosene here (still needed for the recolors), but Tea Addict has added new functionality: toddlers can now nap in them. So, toddlers have somewhere to happily sit close by to the family when outside and when they get tired they will simply peacefully fall asleep in them.
This is a new OMSP-type object by EpiSims which can be used to place showers onto, and then be placed over bathtubs to make custom bath-shower combos in which both the shower and bath will be fully usable.
This mod by Grilled Cheese Aspiration adds a new umbrella bucket item that can be placed on community lots which sims can use to purchase umbrellas from. This is meant to compliment the immersive rain mod with functional umbrellas by velcositro, which also supports Epi's Color Traits. This adds an immersive way for sims to obtain umbrellas rather than only from the catalog.

Graphics Mods & Default Replacements:
These are default replacements by Someday The Sun for the tech fences added in apartment life that have the colorful sideways teardrops. This default makes the fences shorter and removes the teardrops, so they are much more generic and usable now.
This mod by Nopke fixes the IKEA BLADET 3 Plant Pots Grass item - it no longer looks like it's behind a partially transparent object when the transparent object is actually behind the grass, some grass blades that are farther away from you no longer display in front of those closer to you, and it looks sharper than originally, just like other plants.
This is a default replacement for the Bohemian Corbell by PForest. It makes various edits and you can choose which ones you want. It reduces the polycount, retextures it as well as removing the shine from the matching window and also optionally reduces the price, removes the “view” interaction and sets the keep buying flag to true, so you can place one corbell after another without going back to catalogue every time, it also moves it to the Architecture section.
This mod by TvickieSims (and EpiSims) replaces the stack of clothes your sims will carry to the checkout when purchasing new clothes. The clothes pile will be in the sim's favorite color with the color traits mod.
This mod by Suratan replaces the Dirt Clod and Park Bark terrain paints with a higher quality but true-to-Maxis alternative.

This is a lovely default replacement for the fireflies, and optionally the jars too, by Vegan Kaktus. The fireflies are now a warmer yellow color with a brighter glow, and you can also opt to have the lid of the jar be brown instead of red.
This is a GShade Preset made by SissySims which also works perfectly with Reshade too. It is very subtle and optimized for gameplay - it has no strong distracting unrealistic effects but makes everything look more colorful and bright.
This mod by LowMotivesWarning makes the hula zombies that appear when an elder sim dies of old age in gold or platinum aspiration look like actual zombies.
This is an edit by me of iCad's Great Sky Project and Animated Wispy Clouds so they pass by more slowly. These are the neighborhood clouds I use.
This is a default replacement for the Servos by 1nsnlgo1nsn. This makes them look much more like sims and much less cartoony. They will have metallic skin and glowing blue eyes, and wear a cleaner outfit with a translucent apron and glowing logo.
This is a project by Leto Mills which default replaces every single mesh for Adult Male clothing. It makes subtle fixes and improvements, as well as giving them all a pregnancy morph. There's also optional unhiders here too.

This mod by Apple Sugar Water removes the chunky black Maxis eyelashes. You can choose whether you want this to apply to all sims or pick and choose which age/genders you want to remove them from. This is ideal for 3D eyelash accessories, and even eyelash-looking makeup.
This is an animation improvement by PForest for the street art performing mat, so the dancers will no longer completely tuck their neck into their body while dancing, it will still be visible and look more natural and realistic.
This mod by 12Raben fixes the Bay Window that came with Open for Business in Neighborhood view so it has a visible imposter rather than appearing as a hole in the wall.
Pforest has fixed and improved several Maxis clothing meshes and textures, making them look better and giving them morphs for fatness and pregnancy. My favorite is the one for the maid outfit as it is extremely true to Maxis unlike others out there, it basically still looks the same but it is now a blacker black and has nicer shoes.
This mod by Leto Mills is a collection of Maxis-match default replacement meshes for all the Maxis clothing for children, in separate files so you can pick and choose. They are mesh-only (GMDC) and therefore are compatible with texture-only default replacements as well as recategorizers. The goal with these was to rework the fat morphs and to iron out some kinks on the normal morphs. The fat morphs look more realistic and subtle now.
This is a higher quality default replacement by PForest for the floating stars that appear when a sim is slapped.

This mod by PForest fixes a wall light from Bon Voyage to make the light look like its actually coming through the shade when its on, rather than it being completely opaque.
These taxi defaults by Vegan Kaktus are a successor to their first defaults, inspired by Jacky93Sims' Taxi Defaults, as this also makes the glass clearer. However, this keeps a more Maxis-Match style making only subtle changes. This set also replaces the vacation taxis too, and improves the roof signs.
This default replacement set by Vegan Kaktus changes various pet-related items, both Maxis and CC. I particularly like the default replacement of the pet food, making it actually look like pet biscuits / kibble rather than cornflakes cereal! It also replaces the old bone that can be dug up so that it actually looks like an old bone rather than exactly the same as the white dog chew toy. It also makes the old bone buyable from the pet section too so there's more chew toy choice for your doggies.
UI Mods:
This mod by Paolo kindly brings to life an idea I had on my wishlist - a popup notification will now appear when a University Student returns from class. I wanted this because I'd often not realize that my YA sims were back from class since I'm busy looking at other things going on on the lot rather than being able to see the road, and they'd waste hours of time chitchatting and things on the pavement in the corner of the lot. This helps to prevent this accidental time loss and make the most of their university time, especially useful for playing in dormitories with lots of playable sims.

virtualpeople / Radio Gnome has made 11 new sliders: cheekbone width, cheekbone length, jawline squareness, upper lip area width, nose fold rotation (x2), nose vertical length, nose tip length, nose bridge shape (x2), and broken nose.
This mod by ePSYlord adds a new memory that gets automatically applied when a sim gets resurrected, so they remember this significant event and it's clear which memories occurred before their death, and which were made after.
This is a pack of mods by Lenna9 which allows you to use more characters for Sim/Pet Names, Titles, Neighborhood Names, Craftable Descriptions, and Novel Descriptions.
This is a pack of new memories related to Apartment Life by Nopke. They will be automatically added when the relevant event happens: Cast First Spell, Hired a Butler, Moved Into an Apartment, and Rented an Apartment. They are individual so you can just pick and choose the ones you want.
This mod by Pick N Mix adds a new handy interaction to the fridge to stock all of the harvestable produce / functional food the sim has in their inventory at once rather than bringing up the menu to add each item individually. Their Stock All Juicer mod is a similar idea and is also handy.

Bug & Annoyance Fixes:
These are two mods by Nopke which significantly improves the behavior around bathing babies and toddlers. The Baby/toddler bathing autonomy fixes mod fixes various issues with baby/toddler bathing autonomy and also restricts player actions to some extent. With this mod a Sim can no longer autonomously try to bathe a baby/toddler who is being carried by someone else, who has a dirty diaper or a hygiene need above -20, who doesn't belong to their household and isn't their relative (unless the sim is an on-duty nanny or butler), or do so in an apartment of someone that Sim barely knows. Also, they can no longer autonomously initiate social interactions with a toddler/baby being bathed. There is a dirty diaper lock version which completely disables the interaction of bathing a baby/toddler with a dirty diaper, but instead of this version I'd recommend using the Bathing Changes Diaper mod alongside the regular version instead.
The Bathing by nanny fixes mod fixes several issues with nanny and butler behaviors. With this mod, a nanny, a butler, or an apartment neighbor watching the kids who wants to bathe babies/toddlers as part of their caring duties no longer ignores the baby/toddler they are carrying, chooses first the baby/toddler with the lowest hygiene level, can no longer choose a baby/toddler with a dirty diaper, can no longer choose a bathtub/sink that is in an inaccessible room, no longer ignores some tub-shower combos if there's a bathtub on the lot, and with closest object version only; chooses the closest available bathtub/sink based on its distance from the baby/toddler.
This is a pack of 5 mods (and 1 add-on) by Nopke that either fix or improve various issues with feeding babies and toddlers. They're a mix of feeding-related fixes from the Baby Toddler Mod by simler90 and Baby toddler food and feeding fixes by dickhurt without its additional baby feeding features, but with further improvements. These mods make the whole experience around feeding babies and toddlers so much less frustrating in more ways than I can cover here, but some of my highlights include: after taking a bottle of milk from the fridge to feed a baby the Sim will move away from the fridge, if a Sim tries to give a bottle of milk to a toddler on the ground then they will now wait longer before giving up and dropping the bottle instead of being so impatient, a Sim can no longer take mush or a bottle of milk from a fridge if there's not enough food in it (for realism), and so much more.

This mod by EpiSims improves the animations sims perform while doing the 'argue' interaction - they'll actually look like they're annoyed, disagreeing, and having an unpleasant conversation now rather than smiling and nodding.
This mod by EpiSims makes all custom showers cloned from the University communal shower work as an actual communal shower.
This mod by jonasn makes sims eat Chinese food much faster, which was previously painfully slow. As well as this, the mod makes several other improvements to the Chinese food such as improving how sims find where to place the food and where to sit down and eat it, and much more.
This mod by jonasn makes sims eat faster when doing the sloppy eating animation from a bowl, which looks like it would be faster than a non-sloppy sim but was actually slower.
Blueybre has fixed the More Attractive Gaming Competitions originally by MidgeTheTree, as it never actually did what Midge intended. The issue was that sims rarely, if ever autonomously started or joined gaming competitions. Midge attempted to change this but their mod ends up doing a completely different thing from what they intended - it doesn’t actually change who it advertises to (which is actually Playful Sims seeking Social, and Lazy Sims seeking Fun), and instead makes it even less likely for Playful Sims to consider starting or joining a gaming competition. Blueybre has fixed it in two different ways, one being exactly how Midge intended, and another which attempts to make the advertisement a bit more sensible: advertises to Playful Sims only, changes the base Fun ads to be the same as playing a single-player game, and leaves bonus ads as-is. Apparently, the version which Midge intended is not very sensible for gameplay - you’ll likely find that Playful Sims will only ever want to start or join gaming competitions with this mod in, instead of anything else. There's also a version of each version for use with Meduza's Even More Computer Options.

This mod by Nopke fixes a bug where certain interactions can temporarily make a fat Sim appear not fat or partly fat (such as a gap between the top and bottom halves of the body), depending on what they are wearing.
This mod by TvickieSims simply allows the fruits and vegetables to be placed on surfaces, because why couldn't they before?
This is a huge pack of approximately 90 mods by Lenna9. There's no way I can explain them all here, and Lenna describes each of them excellently on the mod page. The majority of these fix bugs, so you'll want the vast majority of them! My notable favorites are the Dog Washing Fix, the Hobby Chance Cards Fixes, and the Santa Fix, but there are so many more! The Dog Washing Fix makes routing to wash dogs in a bathtub much more successful, so there'll be much fewer routing fails. The Hobby Chance Card Fixes fixes the hobby chance cards for every career, so now what the text says will actually be the reward/penalty the sim receives rather than often being something completely different. The Santa Fixes fixes the completely broken Santa Klaus, no longer will he just laugh maniacally and constantly pee in the toilet. His other intended possible interactions are now restored and will work correctly: hug friendly give a friendly hug to a random Sim on the lot, tickle a toddler, and talk to a toddler - so he has a chance of doing some of those instead of only ever 'ho ho ho' and using the toilet.
This is a small pack of mods by LowMotivesWarning. It has a workaround for a glitch that can make certain tan skin (S2) Bon Voyage NPCs show the lightest skintone (S1) on their bodies, mismatching their heads and causing a neck seam. There is a mod to stop the Bigfoot hair from being given to human sims at random, but lets Bigfoot preserve it when Changing Appearance. There's a mod that hides the 'change appearance' interaction from mirrors (except for pets and toddlers) so that sims are incentivized to get a makeover to change their appearance, making the OFB makeover station much more useful and a salon business much more viable. The Santa Portrait Fix is a replacement for Santa Klaus portrait so he looks more like himself and not like Therapist in disguise.

This mod by Nopke fixes various problems with Mrs. CrumpleBottom. With this, Mrs. CrumpleBottom can once again recognize when Sims perform a romantic interaction and smack them with her purse, as this feature stopped working in Apartment Life and Mansion & Garden Stuff. However, she can no longer predict when Sims are about to perform a romantic interaction, so she'll no longer smack sims just on their way to romantically interact. If a Sim rejects a romantic interaction, she can now only smack the Sim who initiated it, not the one who rejected it. If Mrs. CrumpleBottom decides to smack a Sim, that Sim's interaction queue is no longer cleared. The smacking interaction is now properly categorized as mean regardless of latest EP. If Sims are on a date or outing and Mrs. CrumpleBottom smacks one of them, the date/outing score decreases drastically, as intended. Also, she can no longer lecture a Sim for being naked or wearing underwear or swimwear if that Sim is in a different room or if that Sim is performing an interaction. Lastly, she can now recognize up to 8 selectable Sims that she has smacked with her purse – so she can avoid smacking them again until she or your Sims leave the lot they are on.
This mod by fway stops Sims from yelling at you when you cancel the “prepare” action when they have a food prep tray in their hands or are in the middle of preparing food. But now, if you stop the action before they place the food prep tray on the counter, they’ll place the food on the floor.
This mod by Lamare prevents sims from doing the idle where they put their hand over their eyes to cover them from the sun (some people say it looks like saluting) if they are carrying something. They can still do it as long as they do not have an object in their hand.
This mod by Heathen Simmer makes the Read Novel want be satisfied by reading any fiction book from the bookshelf by default, rather than only being fulfilled by novels written by playable sims. I wanted to make this mod myself years ago but didn't know how so I'm so glad this exists now!

These are a few mods by Nopke to do with weeds and shrubs. Firstly, the Sensible weed growth mod improves the logic around weeds growing. With this, weeds can't spawn outside if it's winter, or the temperature is -30 or lower, or the weeds would be covered with snow. However, weeds can spawn new weeds more successfully. There is an addon for this mod that introduces gradual growth states for weeds, so there will be fewer thistles when the patch first appears but more will grow overtime so older weeds will be denser in appearance. The Sensible Shrub Growth mod is a similar idea to the weeds one, so it makes sense to use them together but you don't have to. With this, a shrub doesn't grow or spawn weeds if the same conditions are met in which the weed growth is prevented. Furthermore, a trimmed shrub can no longer spawn weeds but an overgrown shrub spawns weeds more successfully. Lastly, an overgrown shrub no longer keeps growing after 10 days since the longer a shrub grows, the more time it takes to trim it. In an unmodded game, shrub growth was virtually unlimited so tidying up a neglected garden could take an insanely long amount of time, now it will not.
This mod by Heathen Simmer makes the "show off" interaction satisfy the "play with [sim]" want since the interaction is under the play pie menu.
This mod by Lamare fixes a bug with custom bins which makes them always look full after use even when a sim empties them, they will now properly have their empty state when a sim takes the trash out.

This is an awesome must-have tool by lingeringwillx which creates automatic backups of your neighborhoods so you don't have to worry about losing them or not being able to revert back. It is a launcher that you will use to start your game and will first create a backup if one is due as per your settings, and you can even set it to launch RPC so you don't have to choose between launchers - this does it all! You can decide how often you want a backup to be created upon launch, how many backups to keep, which neighborhoods to backup, and where to store your backups.
This is a program by Chieltbest which scans all of the textures in your downloads folder which can help you identify ones that are unoptimized or larger than they need to be. This may mean you decide to remove those entirely, or edit them yourself with a program such as Chieltbest's Yet Another Package Editor. This will reduce the strain on your game, preventing long loading times, lag, and the dreaded pink soup!
